Delegates will be encouraged to focus on their future and what they can achieve on a personal and on a business level to gain more leadership power, and to bring about a greater level of success.

The LDA is hosting Business Leadership Aspire event on Monday 31 March 2008. This unique event will offer a morning of insight and advice on how to realise the potential for small business owners. The event is sponsored by the London Development Agency (LDA) through its Business Leadership Coaching Programme.

The Leadership Coaching Programme (LCP) offers intensive personal coaching and mentoring support and other practical help such as motivational workshops, business visits and access to other useful development tools for a period of 12 months. The programme is aimed at small business owners and those planning to start up in businesses, providing them with a route map for achieving better personal and business success and creating a greater sense of purpose among participants.

The LCP pilot programme begins in April 2008 and the LDA are inviting small business owners, particularly those from minority groups and those who can demonstrate a need for additional personal help and bespoke support for developing their businesses, to express their interest in attending the event on 31 March 2008. Attendance is free but individuals must register an interest in the event. Some lucky delegates will also be considered for a place on the 12 month coaching programme.

By attending the event, business owners will benefit from the support of seasoned personal and business coaches or consultants in undertaking a historical analysis of their business and an objective appraisal of their personal challenges. Delegates will be encouraged to focus on their future and what they can achieve on a personal and on a business level to gain more leadership power, and to bring about a greater level of success.

Immediately following the event the LDA will announce businesses which have been selected to participate in the pilot programme. The event and programme will also be used to guide, inform and signpost participants to other useful services and to provide practical advice for maximising the benefits of using mainstream business support provision. There will also be a showcasing of good practice from successful entrepreneurs and possible onward referral to other LDA programmes such as the High Growth SME Coaching programme.

It is planned that LCP will run two one-year cohorts: class of 2008 from April 08 to March 09 and class of 2009 from March 09 to February 10.

Individuals can register an interest now by clicking on the link below.

It is both sad and ironic that a people as proud of their African roots as Jamaicans should have imbibed the religious bigotry of their white plantation masters.
